Okay, so I have this idea for a new spn comm, and I need to know if people are actually interested in the idea/if people think the idea would even work. If people do like the idea I probably couldn't do it without help...

So I woke up at 6am this morning (after going to bed at 2) in order to obsess about this idea that popped into my head.
I wish there was a central place where I could go and search for authors who write the kind of kinks that I like. Rec comms rarely seem to feature stories with my kinks, and they frequently seem like huge popularity contests anyway. Story finders is cool, but I have to be kind of specific in what I'm looking for, and then it depends on who actually responds and what authors the responders happen to have read. So again it kind of comes down to popularity. You can search places like rounds of kink for specific kinks, but that's only going to pull up stories that people wrote for a specific challenge.
So here's my idea:
We make a comm in which anyone who wants to can put in an entry, as long as they've finished at least one story that has a kink as a focus (maybe pulled from kink bingo? or cliches? I don't know.) In the entry, the author can either link back to a master post in their own journal, or they can list out thier stories under a cut, and with them what kinks they feature. Every author who wants to participate gets one entry. Then they tag their entry with all of the kinks they've written. So if I suddenly get a yen to read a furry fic, then I can go and click on that tag, and pull up a list of all of the authors who've written that kink. And I don't have to announce to the world that that's what I'm looking for if I don't want to. And the furry fic author doesn't have to depend on someone rec'cing their fic to be included in the search. Also, if a writer I really like makes an entry, I can leave a comment saying why I think people should read their fic.
Of course, the trouble with this idea is that it will only be useful if people participate. Do you think people would? Is this a good idea? Please let me know if you like the idea, and if you'd be willing to help me organize it!
