Okay, I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and confess that I was premature in announcing the completion of The World Devours Me a couple of weeks ago. When I re-read the story, I realized that the ending was completely inadequate for the story that I wanted to tell, and one of my betas has suggested that adding in Dean POV would help the pacing a lot, and I agree. So, I'm still writing. The only consolation prize I can offer is that the story is already 10,000 words longer than I said it was in my previous post, and much of that is comfort. I'm reasonably certain that the story will be far stronger when I'm done. The things that have been getting in the way of writing for the last 10 months are now over, so hopefully it will only be a few more weeks.

Here, I will distract you with some pretty...

I'm so sorry about the bait and switch!!! I promise it won't be too much longer!

Take your time, bb. It's more important to get the story done right than quickly. I'm all for reading a stronger, longer story!

And that picture is very distracting. Fic? What fic? :)

I agree with tifaching there: quality over expediency. :) I cannot tell you how excited I am to read this. *squirms*

Stronger story is always better than storyNOW. Nothing worries me more than sending out a story with weak patches or just "not ready". Make it your best. :)

That's why I never say a date. It's long enough between the fics I write as it is. I have a few short fics that beg for sequels, but they'll get done when they get done. :D

Oh and if you like angst, you'll love the first half of my BB. It's making ME cry.

Awww, no worries! It happens a hell of a lot more often than you'd think. The only thing that makes up for it, is that the story is often stronger and makes you love it all the more for the extra work it put you through. Seriously though, all I can think of are kinky analogies that probably wouldn't work all that well outside my head...but I know what that's like. Here you are, so ready to just be DONE, and you're proud of it. And just, come to find out, it's still got a few labor pains left in it, but then when it finally IS done, it's gotten shinier, so it makes up for it. And in my experience at least, you end up more proud of it in the end. And idk why that is but it's a neat feeling. Like it's not just an accomplishment, but it's also like a masterpeice or something. Eh, I dunno if any of that makes sense. But from one author to another, I'd say that sounds like an awesome and exciting plan of action. Even if the feast isn't immediate, I bet it's gonna be all the better for the wait until it's really done!

"do love the Dean POV I'm adding. I was feeling bad, you know, because Sammy was getting all the love whump, and Dean was feeling left out, and also kind of like a dick. But now he's all pretty and angsty and not as much of a dick, and so I can cuddle him close. "

Yessss, to this so much! I have felt this way about a revision! It's like it makes the finished story more complete. More whole. God, I hope that makes sense. But just like it adds where I thought it was complete and makes it better and makes me fall in love with the story and characters all over again! I LOVE it when that happens! It's like your favorite addiction just got sweeter. It's just awesome inside!

Hon, you do whatever you gotta do - I'm just insanely relieved to find there will indeed be a story and that the marvellous and gripping and heartbreaking fill I read on the meme hasn't been abandoned!

Looking forward to reading your story (god, but I was so worried about poor Sam! Oh boys!)!
